Lecture on Abhinaya – Series 2
Padmam is like sahasraara kamalam
Messengers are shown as – eg: nala-damayanti – hamsa or
peacock; pigeon; chiluka or parrot – highly developed and mistique
Chiluka in literature is “atma”,
Purandara dasu uses it to represent – body (cage) his wife
passed away – refer as chiluka or parrot for defining atma
Tatvam – always uses tummeda or chiluka or atma
Banks of the rivers – two sides of the river /similar, they
don’t meet.
Eyes are compared to lotus – when they meet there is fire,
so it is compared to lotus and not stones as eyes look like eye. Eg:
eemako……………arrow without a string ……..atisayokti – for beauty, the idea
is absurd, exaggerated to create rasa – image is beautiful.

vices called kama, krodha, madha, maatsaryalu.
Annamayya – aanu mee kadaku ramanulaaraa (indriyaalu) – deep
philosophical connotation. Mystic moon awoke for me – I realized the world of
praruti dries up, then moon – God, I found my Lord.
Kabir song – Bird – you want to always fly away. Understand that you have duty ro your

are extremely layered….
Bhaktimargam – distinction between male –female doesn’t
exist
